Virtual Observatory

The concept of the ``Virtual Observatory'' (VO) is to be able to connect diverse and seemingly disparate pieces of astrophysical information in a manner that is relatively seamless and unburdened by mundane questions of data origin, data format, and wavelength/frequency. This approach makes it possible to answer (some) astrophysical questions rapidly by enabling you to concentrate on the physical questions at hand and without the need of specialized expert assistance or training.
In this laboratory exercise, you will learn how to use two VO tools and apply these tools to answer a concrete scientific question.
